Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia in collaboration with Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) held a workshop on Bioinformatics, from 13 to 15 September 2016, located at the UAI Campus. The goal of this workshop was to provide training to develop knowledge and skill in bioinformatics for young Indonesian scientists in improving research quality in life science, and sustainable exploration of biodiversity in Indonesia. The workshop featured a world expert from Universitaet Leipzig Germany, Prof.Dr.rer.nat.Peter F. Stadler Professor in Bioinformatic. Other speakers include Sarah Berkemer, M.Sc from Universitaet Leipzig Germany; Dr. rer. nat. Arli Aditya Parikshit from STIA Al Hikmah Jakarta; Dr. Widodo, M.Sc from University of Brawijaya; and Dr. Ade Jamal from UAI. The scope of this workshop include, medical, agricultural, environmental, energy, and food.
