The University of Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) believes that education should be accessible to all to allow students all around the world to develop their capacity, enjoy their learning process, and ultimately contribute to the advancement of society. What happened on March 11, 2025, is a testament to the UAI’s commitment to its internationalization program and vision.
Education for All
On that day, UAI conducted its first pre-test on the Arabic course for Marjam Switat. She is a university student from the Republic of Czech who discovered UAI through its Facebook page, and the name of Al-Azhar reminded her of Al-Azhar University, Cairo. When she discovered UAI’s excellent Arabic Literature Department, she contacted UAI’s Office of International Affairs and Partnership (OIA) to study Arabic under UAI’S Arabic Literature Department. Now, on March 11, 2025, Marjam take part in her first pre-test to determine her proficieny in Arabic.
Pre-Test as A Bright Start


The Head of Arabic Literature Study Program, Fazlur Rachman, S.Pd.I., M.S., Lecturer of Arabic Literature Department, Sayyed Zuhdi Abdil Ghany, Lc., S.S., M.Hum. Dr. Zaqiatul Mardiah, S.S., M.Hum., conducted the pre-test. The test was conducted on Microsoft Teams, and Marjam managed to pass it convincingly. After the test, Marjam appreciated UAI’s effort in conducting the test and for providing an accessible fee. Both parties agreed to conducted a weekly learning class. Afterwards, the pre-test was concluded with great success.
Conclusion
The courses here served as a signal of UAI’s steady and concrete step to an internationally relevant strategy to cement itself as one of Indonesia’s excellent universities, which hopefully will inspire other students around the world to study at UAI and contribute to the develepment of the world.
