On 29 September 2017, Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) held a special lecture with the theme “Becoming a Global Student” presented by Dr. Jakarin Srimoon, Dean of the International College of University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC). The purpose of this event is to encourage the youths on how to braise themselves in the activities related to the international matter, especially to the students of UAI as who were also the participants of the day.
Using his personal experience Dr. Jakarin recommended that, in order to go global, students could apply principles of successful people. They are, among others, just do it, do not give up, forgive yourself, and keep networking.
At the end of the event, UAI students showed their excitements. They are more encouraged to learn and study more. “Thank you, Dr. Jakarin, I feel more motivated now to go overseas and contribute for a better world,” said Subhan, an UAI student majoring at International Relations.
Attendants at the lecture were, among others, UAI Rector Dr. Ahmad Lubis, Universitas Trilogi Rector Prof. Dr. Asep Saefuddin, and Head of the International Office of UAI Mr. Yasmi Adriansyah.
This special lecture is part of collaborative attempts between UAI and UTCC-IC. UAI wishes to have a closer connection with UTCC as both have a lot of opportunities to explore, be they in students-lecturers exchanges, joint research, and other relevant matters in the future.***
