The ties between University Al-Azhar of Indonesia (UAI), Pakistan Government and Embassy of Pakistan, Jakarta runs deep and have been exceptionally fruitful. As countless collaboration already carried out, the inauguration of Pakistan Corner and Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal Room was the most recent cooperation between each parties. The inauguration was conducted at UAI extension building lobby mirror room on September 18, 2021.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Saefuddin, M. Sc., UAI higher-ups, Dr. Ir. Ahmad Husin Lubis as the Head of Field of Higher Education, Training, and R&D of the Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School Foundation (YPIA). From the Pakistan Government side, Ambassador of Embassy of Pakistan Jakarta, Indonesia, His Excellency Ambassador Muhammad Hassan, The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Honorable Gulzar Ahmed and Mr. Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan as the Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan also in attendance.
“The two center was testament of UAI and Government of Pakistan amiable and lengthy bond. As this bond was molded with continuous meeting and friendship between respective parties. Furthermore, with the establishment of this two center, it will be beneficial for countless people and amity between Indonesia and Pakistan will remain steadfast and productive.” Conveyed by Prof. Asep.
Prof. Asep sentiments and remarks was echoed by the His Excellency Ambassador Muhammad Hassan and Mr. Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, as they postulated that the two center will served as a key figure between UAI and The Government of Paksitan friendship. Afterwards, the inauguration of Pakistan Corner and Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal Room was concluded with ribbon cutting by UAI Rector and Chief Justice of Pakistan, screening of Pakistan Room and Sir Iqbal Room, as well as visits by Pakistan Corner and Sir Iqbal Room.
The inauguration of Pakistan Corner and Sir Allama Muhamad Iqbal Room will solidify UAI and Pakistan bond and hopefully, sparked another remarkable collaboration in the future. Ergo, this two center have become a novel landmark of UAI and The Government of Pakistan cooperation, that certainly engraved Pakistan and Indonesia history in education sphere.
