Internship abroad is an opportunity for students to build international networking as well as skill, get academic credit, and experience to live in a new country together with immersion in the traditions and culture. Considering this, University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) collaborated with PT. Liana Segrus Indonesia to expand opportunities for its students to have internships in Japan in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (20/3) at Rectorate Room, 2nd floor of UAI. The event was attended by Mr. Sutrisno (The Executive Director of PT. Liana Segrus Indonesia) and Mr. Mohomad Teguh Setia Basa (Country Director Liama Segrus Co.Ltd).

In the opening remarks, representing Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Saefuddin, M.Sc. (The Rector of UAI), Muhammad Nasucha, S.S., M.Si. (Head of the Division of Academic, Research, and Industrial Cooperation) and Muhammad Fadli, S.E., M.H. (Head of Administrative Services Division, Scholarship, Internship, Mobilization and General Affairs) explained that Japan has a commitment to take part in developing human resources. The internship program there for the students will be a valuable asset for them to learn the positive Japanese values and work culture such a high work ethic, discipline, and systematic as well as sophisticated work procedures are expected to form superior human resource’s mentality.

On the Occasion, Mr. Sutrisno (The Executive Director of PT. Liana Segrus Indonesia) expressed his special thanks to UAI for welcoming this offer warmly. Taking this program passionately, he and his team will provide socialization about the internship programs to students of UAI in the first place. After filtering all the students who have the interest to go to Japan for Internship, they will facilitate Japanese language training before departure and pass the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test that is compatible N4 score. Moreover, all the students will get the provision of knowing intentionally about Japanese culture before they join the internship program. 

The implementation will be carried out for a year equivalent to 40 credits which are converted into 20 off-campus internship credits and the rest can be converted to independent projects or study programs. Students will be given the opportunity to choose their interests. As a result, it will give many advantages to the students such as increasing human resources, mental revolution, transfer of technology, creating entrepreneurs and various other benefits. Expectantly, this collaboration can be implemented as soon as possible, so the two institutions can share a fruitful result.
