Internships have become the cornerstone for students to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional experience, especially during the inter-connected borders evolution we’re currently witnessing. Internships would give the students the necessary edge to compete with other international graduates. That is why University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) collaborated with Echo Partners on March 13, 2025.

Ground Control

Echo Partners is a Japanese company that focuses on aircraft transportation support services at Narita Airport such as baggage, passenger, and cargo handling, and hygiene management. On March 13, 2025, UAI and Echo Partners signed an Implementation Agreement (IA) that would enable 3 students from Japanese Literature of UAI to intern at Echo Partners for the baggage and passenger handling position in Narita Airport for a year that started in August 2025 to 2026. Following the IA signing was an interview process for 9 students of Japanese Literature by Echo Partners and PT TRILOGI Indonesia Berkarya. The success of the internship program was closely intertwined and predated by UAI’s partnership with Daio Kaiun on March 12, 2025.

The delegations of Echo Partners were accompanied by DirectorMr. Kosei Sahara, and Business Development, Mr. Naldy Kostiyandi from PT TRILOGI Indonesia Berkarya, and they were warmly hosted by the Dean of Humanities, Dr. Lusi Lian Piantari, S.S., M.Hum., and the Head of Japanese Literature Study Program of UAI, Vera Yulianti, S.S., M.A. The host quickly arranges for a group photo to kick off the IA signing. After the group photo was concluded, it ushered in the IA signing session that was conducted in the 317C Room, 3rd floor of UAI.

After the IA signing was completed, the interview process took place in the same room where the IA signing was. After the interview process was finished, three Japanese Literature Students were selected and will begin their internship in August 2025.

Conclusion

The interview process and IA signing signified UAI’s commitment to providing the best opportunity for its students to grow academically and professionally. At the same time, the internship was only the first phase of collaboration between UAI and Echo Partners as the performance and dedication of UAI students in their positions are imperative to the sustainability of this program and to build trust between respective parties.
