The Taiwan Ministry of Education is currently opening scholarship programs in Taiwan for Indonesian students who aspire to continue their studies from undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels and the internship program. The application will end on March 31, 2023. Furthermore, other scholarship programs in studying Mandarin in Taiwan as well as chances for scholarship from other institutions are also being opened for Indonesian students. In connection with this, Taiwan Education Centre (TEC) Indonesia would like to share the information on study opportunities and scholarship in Taiwan to the Academics of University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI). As a result, TEC Indonesia visited UAI to share this information to all the Academica of UAI on Friday, 17th of February 2023 in Serbaguna Room, 2nd floor of UAI.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Saefuddin, M.Sc. (The Rector of UAI) expressed his gratitude to Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) as well TEC Indonesia for involving UAI in this special event for three years in a row. It is the moment for the chance to advance UAI’s Academica knowledge as Taiwan has exceptional hospitality and liveability. It has high levels of education, a good healthcare system and low levels of crime. The local people are generally known for being very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
On the other hand, Prof. Asep also mentioned that UAI also has a tight relationship with several Universities in Taiwan such as National Taipei University (NTPU) with an official representative office of Taiwan-Indonesia Urban Environment Change and Land Resource Management Research Centre (TIUL) here in 2nd floor of UAI. UAI also has collaborated with Asia University Taiwan (AU) by involving 130 students to the Exchanged Virtual Program in 2023 and a student who is currently visiting AU in person to experience the exchange student program physically. With these chances from Taiwan Education Centre (TEC) Indonesia, he hoped that all of them can maximize these opportunities to continue their education in Taiwan.
You become what you think every day. If you think to be a good person, think that every day. If you want to study abroad, think of that every time.” (Prof. Asep)
Ms. Tirta Amerta Effendi, M.Sc (Manager of TEC Indonesia) and Ms. Putri Kartika Dewi S. Hum. (Representative from TEC Indonesia) started the socialization by explaining to the audiences why Taiwan deserved to be considered as the destination to advance their study. Taiwan is well known as a research university that allows students to be involved in research during the study. The benefits will help students to emphasise an independent study over taught instruction. Hereinafter, Taiwan is relatively close to Indonesia with 5 hours and 30 minutes flight only and 1 hour faster than Indonesia. This makes the possibility to keep connected with your loved ones without significant time difference. Taiwan Universities are mostly provided Dormitory, Sharing-kitchen, and most importantly a Muslim friendly country. UAI also has several alumni who have graduated from many reputable universities in Taiwan.
Adding some words, both of the speakers from TEC Indonesia shared all the information of scholarships that are currently open such as the Ministry of Education Program (MoE), Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, International Cooperation and Development Fund Taiwan (ICDF), etc. They also highlighted the procedures for those who are interested to apply in detail. During the socialization, there were many of lecturers, staff, and even the students who asked some questions in terms of the scholarship programs. (TSH)
