Monday (27/2) the eight delegations from National Taipei University (NTPU) and Taiwan-Indonesia Urban Environment Change & Land Resource Management Research Center (TIUL) who are Prof. Chen, Dar-Hsin (Project host-Vice President), Prof. Wei, Wann-Ming (Co-host-Director of R&D), Prof. Yeh, Ta-Kang (Co-host-Director), Prof. Shih Hsuan-Chang (Co-host), Prof. Chantalle Elisabeth Rietdijk (Professor), Ms. Jian Ke-Sin (Project Assistant) visited University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) to explore opportunities for advancing collaboration between the two parties as well as presenting academic and research reports in the Serbaguna Room, 2nd floor of UAI.
“On behalf of UAI, I really thanked NTPU and TIUL for believing in UAI since 2021. We have shared a tight, yet special relationship with one another. After the launching of TIUL’s Jakarta Branch Office, the collaborations have come to tangible results. The two researchers from UAI, Yuherina Gusman, S.IP., M.A and Dr. Dra. Manik Sunuantari, M.Si, have involved in TIULS’s projects. With such very crucial research, hopefully the two universities can explore opportunities for further cooperation to contribute in achieving the sustainable development goals of our world”. Dr. Ir. Ade Jamal (Vice Rector IV for Innovation and Collaboration) expressed his thoughts in the opening remark.
On the occasion, Prof. Dar-Hsin delivered his gratitude towards UAI for hospitalizing all the delegations from NTPU and TIUL very well. TIUL has a purpose to contribute in cultivation and international technical personnel exchange, upholding long-term and in-depth cultivation, as well as the development of technological diversification between the two countries without neglecting the promotion of university-industry cooperation and technology development. Therefore, the involvement between NTPU and UAI in TIUL’s research played a crucial role.
During the sharing sections, there were many outstanding presentations from all the delegations from NTPU and TIUL’s representations. In the first, Prof. Shih, Hsuan-Chang presented Taiwan-Indonesia Research Centre at NTPU successfully held two online workshops on sustainability in the built environment for faculty and university students in Taiwan and Indonesia in 2022 and the research team composed of NTPU International College and Taiwan-Indonesia oversea research centre and four Indonesian universities received grant for an integrated project from NTPU 112th year academic excellence and featured field program. Prof. Chantalle Elisabeth Rietdijk also discussed urban research and the preference of TIUL’s research location in Java Island which is quite similar to Taiwan’s environment. She also explained about international programs at NTPU that have specialties in big data analytics, smart city and urban governance, sustainable and real estate management. By having these programs, she believed the chance to advance others’ joint programs such as student, lecturer, and researcher exchanges will be very possible for the two universities.
Meanwhile, from UAI, Dr. rer. nat. Yunus Effendi, S.Pd., M.Si., M.Sc. introduced about all the fields of research of UAI in a very specific way. The purpose is to analyse in which part that NTPU and TIUL would like to collaborate with. Added some, Ir. Hidayat Yorianta Sasaerila, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology) and Dr. Nita Noriko (Lecturer of Biology Department) elaborated that although UAI has not had an Urban Environment Change and Land Resource Management department, we will maximize the opportunity if we are given another chance to advance and be involved in future projects in the future.
Indonesia is the home for natural sources. UAI has passionate and persistent people to be involved in. Therefore, we are very humble if NTPU and TIUL would like to advance our collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals”. (Ir. Hidayat Yorianta Sasaerila, M.Sc., Ph.D)
At the end of the event, the NTPU and TIUL together with UAI delegates handed over the souvenirs to one another as well as had lunch together in the Rectorate room, 2nd floor of uai, accompanied by Ir. Ade Suryanti, M.M. IPU. (Vice Rector II for Resources). (TSH)
