Al Azhar Indonesia University  (UAI)  in cooperation with the British Embassy in Jakarta launched a program called Great Corner, on Tuesday 19 March 2013, located in the Mandiri library of UAI. The purpose of this program is to introduce various aspects of Great Britain including its multi cultural, social and economic aspects to students as well as faculty member of UAI.

Prof. Zuhal, the Rector of UAI, opened this launching ceremony with a welcome speech, followed by a speech by Ms.Rebbeca Razavi (Deputy of British Ambassador to Indonesia).  Following the speech session, the Rector of UAI and the Deputy of British Ambassador  visited and opened the Great Corner at UAI Campus by a ribbon cutting ceremony.

After the ribbon cutting, Mr. Andrian Susilo, a recipient and alumnus of UK scholarship, shared his experience on studying in UK. Students and staff of UAI seemed to enjoy the entire ceremony, which was escalated to its peak  during the presentation by the novelist,  Mr. Ahmad Fuadi, who wrote Negeri Lima Menara. He inspired audience with his unique experience while attending overseas universities. He described how he was so determinant which his resulted in success in receiving eight scholarships.

The event was closed with a Question & Answer session by students to Mr. Andrian Susilo and Mr. Ahmad Fuadi.
