Dr. Ir. Ade Jamal (The Vice Rector IV for Innovation and Cooperation), Dr. Kuncoro Hadi, S.T., M.Si. (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business), Faisal Sundani Kamaludin, Lc., M.Ed., Ph.D. (Head of Subsection Directorate of Curriculum and Learning), and Muchammad Nasucha, S.S., M.Si. (Head of the Division of Academic, Research, and Industrial Cooperation) Thursday (17/11) visited Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to sign an Exchange Letters with University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI). The event that took place at the UPM School of Business and Economics, was started by a speech by Dato’ Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan bin Sulaiman (The Vice Chancellor of UPM)
“To be recognised a leading Asian Business School, achieving global excellence in education, research, and societal, and engagement and to leverage the unique strengths of our faculty to conduct influential research for academia, policy development, and communities are UPM’s goals”, said Dato’ Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan bin Sulaiman in his speech and presentation.
During the discussion, both parties have agreed to give more concern on developing the community service programs that can build and strengthen relationships as well as social awareness and responsibility between all the Academica.
First of all, I would like to thank UPM for having us on this special occasion. UAI as part of Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al-Azhar that consist from childhood early education to the university level. We are also spread over in all provinces in Indonesia which means we have lots of strategic partnerships that we can develop to nurture the community service and training programs between UPM and UAI. I’m confident it can be implemented as soon as possible”, Dr. Ir. Ade Jamal expressed in his opening remark.
Also, Prof. Bany Ariffin Amin Noordin, DBA (Dean of UPM School of Business and Economics) added that the two universities can also provide presentations of training education cooperation projects from Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
In response to this, Dr. Kuncoro Hadi, S.T., M.Si. delivered his interest to the training projects as well as the research programs must be concerned by both parties. He said that UPM School of Business and Economics and Faculty of Economics and Business of UAI can collaborate to maximize the point of view from both specializations. As both parties can reciprocally share and learn from each other to advance the quality in higher education through research
These agreements, which have been signed, involve the aforesaid activities that will be carried out through the exchange of researchers, study trips, joint courses and projects and through organization workshops, seminar, conferences, and community services between UPM and UAI. These are expected to contribute to the development and enhancement of relations between this collaboration (TSH).
