The Rector of University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) and his delegations started their activity in Malaysia by visiting Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The delegations were welcomed by The Vice Chancellor of UUM (Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah) in Anjung Tamu Centre UUM on Tuesday (15/11).
In the opening remarks, The Vice Chancellor of UUM gave his speech.
There are lots of things that we can initiate and build together to advance science and UUM is very humble to share its knowledge and also to learn from UAI. As the 2nd best university in Malaysia now, I am very grateful for the former leaders of UUM in the last 38 years ago. Those leaders who dared to dream and saw university as an act to rise of a country and led us to who we are today” Prof. Haim said.
Added some words, The Rector of UAI ((Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Saefuddin, M.Sc) expressed his appreciation to UUM to receive UAI delegations’ pleasantly as well as to make the collaboration possible. He also delivered his hope to the younger generation especially Malaysia who is a neighbor to Indonesia. As it is his belief that one thing that will separate a country with another is only the administration. So, he asked UUM together to advance science for a better world.
During the main agenda, The Rector of UAI and The Vice Chancellor of UUM signed the MoU themselves and it was witnessed by The Vice Rector IV for Innovation and Cooperation of UAI (Dr. Ir. Ade Jamal). Hereinafter, the agreements that have been signed by the two universities, which involve the collaboration in exchanging and visiting programs between students, lectures, and faculty, twinning program, joint research and publication, and academic meetings and conferences, are expected to reach both objectives. The two universities’ delegations also discussed how to actualize those in the near time and what they can provide reciprocally as universities.
On the sidelines of the agenda, Prof. Dr. Haim introduced UUM’s Gallery as the eminent management university. Prof. Haim explained the vision, and mission of UUM along with the photograph of prominent figures who are their alumni from the past to the present. He proudly stated that UUM is a university that is driven by the motto knowledge, virtue, service and UUM collected all of them into this gallery as a tribute to the university.
Also accompanying The Rector of UAI in the visitation was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (Dr. Kuncoro Hadi, S.T., M.Si.), Dean of Faculty of Psychology and Education (Dr. Drs. Fidesrinur, M.Pd.), Dean of Faculty of Law, Head of Office of International Affairs (Mohamad Ghozali Moenawar, Lc., M.M.), Head of the Division of Academic, Research, and Industrial Cooperation (Muchammad Nasucha, S.S., M.Si.), and Head of Subsection Directorate of Curriculum and Learning (Faisal Sundani Kamaludin, Lc., M.Ed., Ph.D.) (TSH).
