University Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI) and Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Thailand have been in partnership since 2022. The two universities have curved many fruitful program implementations. After the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Psychology and Education of UAI and Faculty of Islamic Sciences (PSU), the exchange student program has become one of the main priorities of the collaboration. In June 2023, UAI received five of students from PSU to participate in the exchange student program at UAI. In connection with this, on Tuesday (28/11) six of UAI students from the Faculty of Psychology and Education who are Dian Fitri Damayanti (2020 Islamic Counseling Guidance), Gita Febrianti (2021 Islamic Education), Else Shinta Maharani (2020 Islamic Counseling Guidance), Rafidah Shofiaturrosyidah (2021 Psychology), Safaa Sabika (2021 Psychology), and Muhammad Haris (2021 Islamic Education) were leaving for Thailand to participate as well at the exchange student program at and Faculty of Islamic Sciences (PSU). The program is designed under higher education collaboration that will last for three months. Accordingly, UAI wishes the best for their journey in Thailand.

Before the departure, Prof. Dr. Asep Saefuddin, M.Sc., (Rector of UAI) addressed his message to the six chosen students, it is his belief that the experiences they will get during their exchange student program at PSU will be an asset for our university, faculty, as well as their own selves. With such a consideration, we are confident that they will maximize the opportunity to gain valuable study experiences, get to know more about Islamic studies in PSU, Thai culture, and expand the global network for their bright future. It is such a pleasure to him to send the students as the ambassador of UAI to PSU and vice versa. Moreover, he hopes that this implementation between the two institutions can contribute in improving the world’s quality education and take part in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) by promoting as well socializing Islam’s role in science.

In the same way, Dr. Drs. Fidesrinur, M.Pd. (Dean of Faculty of Psychology and Education) also wished good luck to all the six students. He expects that all the students can expand their horizons each and every day. Keep exploring new academic domains. Most importantly, to enjoy studying from brilliant minds of the world and amidst the best resources and meet new people, absorb different cultures, learn exciting things, and transform all their dreams into reality.
